The state has provided funding for many local organizations to serve traditional and nontraditional businesses.

Community Economic Development Fund (CEDF) - Loans and technical assistance to small businesses, and grants to community organizations for economic development projects. See Web site for eligible towns.

North Central Region
Hartford Economic Development Commission - Finds opportunities that can maximize businesses' potential.

Hartford Economic Development Corporation (HEDCO) and Greater Hartford Business Development Center (GHBDC) - Collaborate with concerned public and private organizations to help start, finance, retain and recruit small businesses.

MetroHartford Alliance - Develops solutions to retain and expand the current business base. Leverages resources to attract new businesses to the region.

Hartford Community Loan Fund - helps stabilize and revitalize Hartford's neighborhoods.

Eastern Region
Northeast Connecticut Economic Alliance Regional Revolving Loan Fund - Consults small business in financial and business development, technical assistance and loans.

SouthEastern Connecticut Enterprise Region (SECTER) - A support and resource network offering incentive programs and a special multi-million dollar regional loan fund.

South Central Region
Connecticut Community Investment Corporation - Provides a number of different loans.

Empower New Haven - Dedicated to business growth by offering incentives, financing, loans and grants.

Middletown Business Loan Programs - Dedicated to business growth by offering incentives and financing.

Middlesex County Revitalization Commission - Provides a revolving loan fund to promote economic development projects.

Northwest Region
Waterbury Development Corporation - Provides direct business financing; recommends technical assistance providers; offers financial counseling and site selection information.

Litchfield Hills Regional Micro-Loan Program - Serves income-eligible small businesses in the 11 towns of the Litchfield Hills Region.



Southwest Region
Community Capital Fund - Provides capital and access to technical assistance for viable small to medium-sized businesses and to community development corporations.
